The Asian Competition

We act differently when people happily buy the latest bargain “made in Asia”, but we all know too well what is behind it … The destruction of jobs in our country, child labor, disregard for the environment, lack of protection social … And then criticize a tropical island or a Swiss bank defrauded accept money elsewhere! This is not to far from making apology for tax evasion, only to emphasize that our morale is very variable as it suits us. Also, the much vaunted argument of money laundering, it is not so clear today. Most tax havens have launched action against money laundering and exchange information in cases where evidence of a felony. Just some of these countries have far more stringent measures against money laundering that many western states. For example, in Antigua and Barbuda totally prohibiting the deposit of cash or bearer checks in offshore banks, while in the United States can still buy the famous “Money orders” at any store, paying with cash and without any identification.

This is also in our countries “exemplary” too much money is laundered. It is an open secret that for example in certain parts of southern Spain have been bleached million in the housing market, not to mention the Italian Mafia, which controls much of the economy of that country in Europe … We are planning for that prohibit the sale and purchase of homes on the Spanish coast, or never going on vacation to a town south of Rome? Probably not. Justice would demand that our governments that if they really want to fight tax evasion and money laundering, all countries are measured with the same brush and that curtail many abuses that we tolerate without thinking and are therefore no less serious. While laws exist to some and not others are the same, is how if we play the same game on the same board, but with different rules. And this applies not only to tax havens, but in general for all aspects of the free market.
